Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said China has invited a record number of developing countries to participate -- including Laos and Thailand from southeast Asia; Kazakhstan from central Asia; and Chad, Senegal and Egypt from the African continent. He spoke with a lot of conviction ahead of the meeting.

"The summit is one month away and the preparatory work has entered its sprinting stage. It's a very important home venue for Chinese diplomacy and is a globally-focused event. I would like to inform you that preparations are smooth and we are confident of a successful summit," Wang said.
