International athletes have welcomed the IOC's decision to allow more than 270 Russian athletes to join the Games.
"I think it’s the right choice definitely give the athletes benefit of the doubt and to let those athletes that have worked so hard compete for their country. On one part, banning all athletes definitely puts a strong statement on the topic but it can be unfair for lots, so you know I stand beside the IOC and their decision," said Scott Morgan, Canadian artistic gymnast.
"If you want to respect the spirit of the Games, I think you can’t blame everyone, because there are athletes that are clean. I think the Olympic Committee has taken that into account," said Alphonse Camara, Cote d'ivoire team.
"There might be some athletes who never did doping, so I think the IOC committee made the right decision for Russia," said Akane Kagawa, team manager of Japan's rugby sevens.
