Nepal has elected Pushpa Kamal Dahal as its new Prime Minister. He is now tasked with rebuilding the country after a devastating earthquake and resolving simmering unrest over the new national charter adopted last September.

Nepal's Parliament elected Dahal as the head of the government nearly two weeks after Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli stepped down from the post.

The spokesperson for China's Foreign Minister says China congratulates the new prime minister and hopes to continue their good relations with Nepal.
