UN Security Council members have also strongly condemned North Korea's latest missile launches. This comes after they held a meeting on Wednesday.

"The missile launch landed within Japan's EEZ, Exclusive Economic Zone. There was no warning whatsoever. We see it as a grave violation of certainly the resolutions of the Security Council that have been passed before, but it is certainly a major, major problem for the security and safety of our region," Japanese ambassador to Koro Bessho said.

"These actions are a challenge to peace and security. They are a challenge to the founding instruments of the United Nations which emphasize the importance of peace and security and so, we are going to continue to push for the full implementation of Resolution 2270," US ambassador to UN Samantha Power said.

"What they are doing is not just a separate, random missile test. I think they are doing all of this with a systematic, comprehensive purpose of upgrading and refining their missile technologies, which is not only a grave challenge to the non-proliferation, global non-proliferation system, but also poses a clear and present danger to the security of all countries in the region," S. Korean ambassador to UN Oh Joon said.
