Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin says Russia's new Borei-class nuclear-powered submarines are capable of penetrating any missile defense system. Rogozin made the statement during Russian Navy Day celebrations. He added, Bulava ballistic missiles on board the submarines are equipped with six to ten high supersonic warheads -- that can overcome any defense.

The submarines are also smaller and quieter than their predecessors, making them harder to detect.
