Robert Milliner, a senior advisor for China B20 and the B20 Sherpa for Australia for 2014, is calling on G20 leaders to resist trade protectionism. He says the global economic recovery remains weak.
Milliner spoke to CCTV-News on the sidelines of a business advisory council for APEC business leaders in Shenzhen. He said free trade and economic integration remain major goals for APEC and the G20.
Q1. China is actively promoting the FTAAP, which is Free Trade Area of Asia-Pacific. Some say it's an attempt to achieve stronger regional integration. Some also say that it's China's attempt to balance off the US promotion of TPP, or Trans-Pacific Partnership. Do you agree with these opinions?
Q2. Given this sluggish economic growth in the world and the rising sentiment of trade protectionism, what is your expectation on the upcoming G20 summit in Hangzhou?
