Hong Kong's western China film exhibition is giving movie-goers a rare glimpse of the scenery, life, culture, and history along China's ancient Silk Road.
Seven movies are being shown in three different theaters through the month of August. Hong Kong film organizations and companies are supporting the event and tickets are being given out free of charge.
The exhibition includes a range of modern and traditional films. The critically acclaimed documentary “The Third Pole” looks at the daily life of Chinese people living on China's Qinghai-Tibet Plateau -- and how they live WITH nature at the top of the world.
Another documentary, "Himalaya: Ladder to Paradise", as well as the award-winning movie “Song of the Phoenix” introduce viewers to age-old traditions and cultural customs that can only be found along China's Silk Road.
