Full coverage: THAAD Deployment in South Korea

US Secretary of the Army Eric Fanning is expected to pay a visit to the army unit set to operate the THAAD missile defense system.

South Korean media quotes a source as saying that the visit will be scheduled in Fanning's three-day visit to the country, which begins today.  The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense unit is to be deployed in the southeastern town of Seonju. 

This is Fanning's first trip to the region since taking office as secretary in May. He is also expected to visit other Army units and hold talks with South Korean officials.
