Five Russian military personnel are dead, after the helicopter they were flying in was shot down in Syria's northern Idlib province. 

Russia's defense ministry says the Mi-8 military transport helicopter was shot down after it successfullly delivered humanitarian aid to Syrians living in the war-torn city of Aleppo.

The helicopter was attacked while flying over rebel controlled territory. Two Russian officers and three Russian crew members died in the crash.
