One of the main story lines at the Rio Games will be the inclusion of some Russian athletes. The IOC refused to hand a blanket ban on the country following a report that stated they were involved in masterminding a massive doping ring. And the president of the Olympic movement says that was the right approach.
Thomas Bach made the comments at a media conference in the Olympic city. Russia's track and field team were banned from participating from the Games, because of the doping scandal, but not other athletes. Some say that hurts the integrity of sport -- but the President says this was the best solution.
"We now have to decide what does this system mean for each and every individual, and how far can you go to punish an individual for the failures or manipulations of your government. If this system was applied like this, it's an attack on everything we want to represent, it's an attack on the Olympic Games and it's an attack on our values. What we have to decide then is, if I may say, is much more difficult," Bach said.
