Chinese Defence Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun says the Chinese military will continue its efforts to help African nations achieve peace and stability.
"China highly values its cooperation with African and other developing countries. Over the years, China's armed forces have actively participated in 16 UN peacekeeping operations in Africa, and have sent nearly 30-thousand troops to the region. Some 23 naval fleets were sent on escort operations in the Gulf of Aden to ensure the safety of more than 6 thousand vessels. China has also provided mine-sweeping training, equipment, medical services and humanitarian aid to African countries," Yang said.
