Jiangsu Suning was hosting Henan Jianye in the second leg of their Chinese FA Cup quarter-final showdown which marks the third time in 15 days for the two teams to tussle. Jiangsu came into the match down 2-1 on aggregate, but two timely goals from Alex Teixeira would help them make up the deficit and produce a nervy finish in Nanjing.

Fourteen minutes into it Jiangsu take the lead when Alex Teixeira manages to get off a shot that finds the net and give the hosts a 1-0 edge.

Henan would level the score after the break. Zhong Jinbao finds Ivo, who heads home and it's 1-1.

Suning keep pressing and it's Teixeira again. The Brazilian slips a shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-1 Suning and 3-3 on aggregate.

No more goals before the final whistle blows so we're headed to extra time.

And Suning prevail in the added period when Ji Xiang curls a wonderful left-footed shot into the net and Jiangsu win the match 3-1 and reach the semi-finals 4-3 on aggregate.

In other quarter-finals, Shanghai Shenhua beat Tianjin Quanjian 1-0 to complete a 5-0 aggregate win, while Guangzhou R&F defeated Hebei Fortune 2-1 and are into the semis with a 5-1 score on aggreagte.

Here are the semi-final matchups. It's a Guangzhou derby between five time reigning CSL champions Evergrande and R&F while Shanghai Shenhua take on Jiangsu Suning.
