China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of the meeting earlier today. Wang told Kerry that both China and ASEAN want regional parties to settle their disputes through dialogue -- and emphasized China's committment to regional cooperation.
Kerry said the US supports a resumption of bilateral talks between China and the Philippines. The Chinese Foreign Minister also met with counterparts from the Republic of Korea, Japan and all ASEAN member states, to discuss issues related to trade and cooperation.
