The Chinese foreign minister said that China and Thailand share the same stance on the South China Sea issue. Wang's remark came after a meeting with his Thai counterpart Don Pramud-winai at the ASEAN meeting.

"Thailand and China are on the same page, and agree on the comprehensive and effective implementation of the Declaration on Conduct in the South China Sea. It stipulates that disputes should be peacefully resolved through negotiations between the parties directly involved," Wang said.

"Almost all the countries hope the Philippines can return to dialogue with China, and this is exactly what the Thai foreign minister said a moment ago. "

Wang also said China appreciates Thailand's efforts to help maintain a sound China-ASEAN relationship. Pramud-winai, meanwhile, said Thailand will continue pushing forward bilateral cooperation.

He added that Thailand will keep working with China in the implementation of the Declaration of Conduct in the South China Sea.
