China's president Xi Jinping has met with US National Security Advisor Susan Rice in Beijing.

Xi said China values ties with the US, and is willing to promote them through mutual trust and respect. He stressed that both sides share common interests far greater than disputes, and can cooperate in many sectors, including combating climate change.

Xi added he is looking forward to a meeting with US president Barack Obama at the G20 summit in September in east China's Hangzhou. Rice said the US is willing to effectively manage and control disparities, increase mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation in many fields.
