Intense flooding in the city of Xingtai -- in North China's Hebei Province -- has left people 25 dead and 13 missing.
Heavy rain hit the city initially on Tuesday, and triggered an average precipitation level of 167 millimeters over the following 48 hours. It was as high as 350 millimeters in some areas of the city. Flooding affected 21 counties and more than 760-thousand people. Nearly 90-thousand peole were forced to relocate.
More than 4 thousand houses collapsed. Direct economic losses are estimated to be about 650 million yuan, or nearly one hundred million US dollars.
