Chinese premier Li Keqiang has met with the Head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, WTO officials, and representives from the World Bank in Beijing -- ahead of this weekend's gathering of G20 finance officials in Hangzhou.
Premier Li said China would continue to open its currency markets and urged struggling economies not to engage in currency or trade wars. Lagarde welcomed China's trade commitments and expressed her disappointment about a revised economic global growth forecast -- following the United Kingdom's decision to leave the EU.
Earlier this week, the IMF cut its annual global growth forecast by 0.1 percentage points to 3.1 percent.
