Full coverage: Belt and Road Initiative

A high-level conference on intellectual property rights for countries along the Belt and Road is underway in Beijing. The meeting aims to discuss how IP rights can promote innovation and economic development in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Experts and government representatives will also discuss how to strengthen capacity building in intellectual property infrastructure to promote innovative development of countries and regions. China's state IP office and the World Intellectual Property Organization are among the main organizers of the event.

Over 300 experts and senior government officials from more than 50 countries along the Belt and Road region have participated in today's conference.
