Representatives from China and various African countries will gather in Beijing next Friday to implement the policies agreed upon at last year's Johannesburg Summit.
"A joint statement will be issued to confirm the achievements and significance of the Johannesburg Summit, as well as to introduce the implementation of the policies agreed upon then," said Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming.
The Johannesburg Summit was held last December during a Sino-Africa forum. Mutiple cooperation agreements worth over 60 billion US dollars were reached.
At a press conference Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry denied any competition between western countries and China over Africa.
Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming said Africa doesn't belong to any country's sphere of influence, and the countries in that continent have the power to choose their partners.
