International experts have denounced the arbitration tribunal initiated by the Philippines at a seminar in Singapore.

The one-day meeting focused on topics such as settlement mechanisms for maritime disputes, solutions to territorial disputes in the South China Sea and regional cooperation and development.

Experts at the seminar said the Philippines initiated the arbitration unilaterally, violating  international law on arbitration.
