China's service trade rose more than 20 percent from January to May. That was the word Monday from the Commerce Ministry.
The ministry said imports and exports for the service sector totaled about two trillion yuan during the period, up 22 percent year on year from the same time last year. Computer technology, finance, electronic commerce were the major drivers.
Trade with countries along the belt and road initiative also rose sharply as newly signed contracts between China and ASEAN countries reached 49 billion yuan, up over 80 percent from the same period last year.
The trade service sector has maintained double-digit growth since March, and the Commerce Ministry said its volume could top 2.5 trillion yuan for the first six months.
