The International Olympic Committee could impose sanctions against Russia. IOC president Thomas Bach says the doping is "a shocking and unprecedented attack" on the integrity of sports and on the Olympic Games.

He says the IOC will carefully study the independent report by the World Anti-Doping Agency. If the committee finds the allegations to be true, Bach says it will impose the toughest sanctions available against any individual or organisation implicated.
