The World Heritage Committee has said that it will reconvene its 40th session in Istanbul on Sunday, after the coup attempt on Friday night suspended the meeting.
The 11-day session opened a week ago and was scheduled to last till July 20. Prior to the meeting suspension, the committee decided to add nine new properties to the World Heritage List.
Amongst them was the Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A review of the remaining 18 nominated sites, including China's Shennongjia Forestry District in Hubei Province, will top the agenda.
