China strongly opposes the deployment of THAAD. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lu Kang reiterated China's stance at a daily press conference.
 
"The deployment of THAAD in the Republic of Korea by the United States and the ROK has severely undermined the strategic balance in the region, and the strategic and security interests of the countries in the region including China. This runs counter to the efforts to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. We have already said that we firmly oppose the deployment of THAAD in the ROK by the US and the ROK. We strongly urge the two sides to stop the related process. I can tell you that China will take necessary measures to safeguard our own reasonable interests," Lu Kang said.
