A growing number of people and political parties have spoken out in support of China's stance since the arbitral court ruling on the South China Sea issue.

"A month ago, an ambassador of a country visited me, and said he hoped that Cambodia would support the one voice of ASEAN, after the release of the result of the South China Sea arbitration. I asked immediately what does the one voice mean. The ambassador replied that it is to support the arbitration of the international tribunal. Then, I asked again whether the ambassador knew the result of the arbitration beforehand. This is not about law. This is a political event, and I do not support it," said Hun Sen, Cambodian Prime Minister.

"President Aquino gambled in our national sovereignty and pride. He exploited the so called national sentiment, or blind jingoism, which is not good. Many Filipinos will be sacrificed for a war, which if you'll have to look back, it's a kind of war that was initiated by the Aquino administration, was not initiated by China. That's my position. There's no way we can win in that case," said Rod Kapunan, columnist of The Standard.

"Outside forces can not succeed to push militarization of South China Sea. Especially the United States attempts to introduce conflicts and wars from the Middle East area into the Asia Pacific region," said Abbas, Central Committee, Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah.
