The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are still years away, but events will be taking place throughout the Chinese capital all the way through the lead-up to the Games. One of those is the launch ceremony for the 2016 YES Cross-City Running event, scheduled for later this month.
The race will start on July 31st in Chongli, where many of the snow events will be held in 2022. This competition, which will cover 300 kilometers, concludes in Beijing on August 3rd.
Many notables will be participating, including former badminton champion Ye Zhaoying.
The runners say that by taking part, they are showing their support for the Winter Olympics.
