"It's Not The Time Of My Life" won the Crystal Globe Award, at the 51st edition of the film festival headquartered in the Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary.

"Our film is about two families, and both families are behind me, more or less. We are very happy. This is truly a great surprise. It is a small show that we play in a small theater of 50 seats in Budapest, and we made the film out of that with a very minimal budget, and now here we have received the main award, and I got the Best Actor Award, so everyone is very happy," Szabolcs Hajdu said.

Other accolades handed out at the conclusion of the gathering included the President's Award going to American screenwriter and director Charlie Kaufman, with the 2004 Academy Award winner on hand to thank the judges at the podium.

The Special Jury Prize was claimed by Russian director Ivan Tverdovskiy's unusual romance film "Zoology", which tells the story of a woman who grows a tail. Slovenian moviemaker Damjan Kozole received the Best Director Award for his flick "Nightlife" and Zuzana Mauréry took home the Best Actress Award for her role in Jan Hrebejk's entry, "The Teacher".
