One piece of data which appears strong is auto sales.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers says Chinese carmakers produced 12.9 million vehicles from January through June. That was a 6.5 percent year on year rise.
Car sales reached 12.8 million units, up 8.1 percent from a year ago.
Analysts say those results were ahead of full-year predictions and they're cautiously optimistic that the sales momentum will continue. June was a bumper month, sales jumped 14.6 percent. That was the highest monthly growth since last December. The only concern among analysts is that this means an inventory build-up at dealerships.
Pure electric vehicle sales soared about 162 percent in the first half of this year. That came on the back of sales curbs on gasoline vehicles and other favourable policies for electrics in China's first-tier cities.
