The symposium of the International Camping Congress is the China version of the event, and was held in the city of Ulanqab in Inner Mongolia.

The four-day conference would get the 200 participants to enjoy the outdoors. Among them would be former 20-k race-walking world champ Liu Hongyu, the former captain of the women's national basketball team, Song Xiaobo and 2004 Olympic champ in doubles tennis, Li Ting.

Anyone that could finish the five-kilometer journey in a given time, was honored with a medal and a certificate. The gathering's aim is to get more people participating in outdoor activities.
