China's defense ministry has said one Chinese peacekeeper was killed and six others injured in a bomb attack during the clashes in the South Sudanese capital of Juba.
The ministry said the soldiers were on a mission when their armored vehicle was hit by a bomb. The ministry said it has already taken emergency and security measures, and carried out medical treatment for the wounded soldiers.
Meanwhile, the UN Security Council said several Rwandan peacekeepers have been injured in the clashes.
According to the Health Ministry, at least 270 people have been killed since late Thursday. That's when the clashes between forces loyal to President Salva Kiir and those aligned with Vice President Riek Machar began. The UN condemned the attacks and provocations against civilians and UN personnel. It has expressed sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims.
