Both China and Russia have raised objections against the deployment of the THAAD system in South Korea. Russia says the move would 'undermine the established strategic balance in the region', and Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi says the deployment will destabilize the balance in the Korean Peninsula.
"We urge the United States not to achieve security at the expense of undermining security of other countries, and harm the legitimate security interests of other countries at the excuse of countering threat. We hope South Korea can calm down to think if the THAAD deployment can really help it achieve security and be conducive to the stability of the peninsula," said Wang.
