Heavy rainfall over the lower reaches of the Yangtze river is flooding towns and cities across the region -- including Jiangsu's provincial capital Nanjing.
Roads have disappeared. Car engines have filled with water. Traffic is tied up. The heavy downpour has forced city officials to close subway stations and underground passages. People are having trouble commuting to work. Water damage caused a wall to collapse in Nanjing's South Railway Station. The local rail authority says 21 trains have been cancelled and 30 more delayed because of the extreme weather.
