Police have been patrolling along the coast in east China, part of precautions against typhoon Nepartak. The super typhoon is expected to bring storm surges to the region today.
In Fujian Province, over 30 thousand fishing boats have returned to port. Some 35 thousand aquaculture workers have been urged to go inshore. The Yangtze River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters issued the third highest level emergency response.
Shanghai and eastern provinces including Jiangxi, Anhui and Jiangsu have been warned to pay close attention to changes in weather conditions and possible secondary disasters.
