Dozens of experts from China and the United States have held a dialogue in Washington DC regarding the South China Sea dispute. Former Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo delivered a keynote speech at the event. Dai said China and the US have no territorial disputes or fundamental strategic conflicts in the South China Sea.

The president of Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, is in China for a state visit from July 4 to 8. Chinese Presdient Xi Jinping welcomed him Tuesday, and both leaders decided to lift their bilateral relations to new levels.

China's meteorological authority has downgraded a rainstorm alert from orange to blue, adding that the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze river will experience less heavy rainfall.
