World champion Peter Sagan was able to come out on top in the second leg after the Slovakian was pipped at the line in the opener by Mark Cavendish. The British racer has 27 stage wins to his name and would get one closer to Eddy Merckx's record of 34 at this stretch from Granville to Angers.

This part of the race, beginning in the Normandy region of France, goes for 223.5 kilometers.

And after 115 kilometers its French cyclist Armindo Fonseca leading the way, more than three minutes ahead of the peloton..

Racing with the yellow jersey is Sagan after his impressive uphill finish Sunday meant he overtook  Cavendish to become the overall leader.

It all comes down to a sprint finish between the Englishman and German Andre Greipel but the 2012 Olympic gold medallist is able to see it through after a photo finish. The 31-year-old has now won the second most stage wins of all time and is 6 behind the record held by the Belgium Merckx.

Out in front is Sagan in search of his first ever Tour de France title. 8 seconds behind him is Frenchmen Julian Alaphilippe who is competing in his first tour. 10.
