Is it hot enough for you? A chili pepper eating contest has been held in Lijiang, Yunnan province. Participants were to eat as many as possible while soaking in a 1-point-1-meter-diameter tub filled with the hot peppers, experiencing the spiciness both inside-out, and outside-in. The pepper of choice was the Yunnan special Xiaomijiao, classified as "extremely hot". The winner downed 47 raw peppers in just 2 minutes. Talk about burning ambition.

A degree in romance. When Ms. Tan was ready to get her Ph-D, her boyfriend of 8 years was on stage with her.  What she didn't expect was a proposal.  Under the approving eye of the university president, boyfriend Mr. Liu stole the show.  Students at Jilin University say their president knows college isn't just about academics.  

An 86-year-old's "Porcelain Palace"

And finally, an incredible 'Porcelain Palace'. Jingdezhen is China's "Porcelain Capital".  And native Yu Ermei started to learn about pottery when she was only 12.  Now 86, she says the idea of building a museum to house her porcelain collection came when she was in her fifties, but she didn't start until she was 80. She has pieces from all over the world, and perhaps the greatest artwork is the museum itself.  Yu Ermei has already raised 5 million yuan, and will complete the masterpiece in 5 years.
