China’s National Meteorological Center has renewed its orange alert weather warnings ahead of further heavy downpours. Orange is the second highest level in the four-tier warning system.

The Meteorological Center says heavy rain is expected in Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Yunnan and Hainan provinces, and in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with downpours lasting until Wednesday morning.

The center has also warned about possible thunderstorms and landslides.

At least 61 people have died in weather-related incidents over the past two weeks.
