Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is paying a visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Keqiang.

Premier Li met with Tsipras at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday afternoon. Li will also host a welcome ceremony later.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold talks and witness a signing ceremony. They will also attend a business forum. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Greece.

A number of agreements are expected to be signed during the Greek prime minister's visit. Tsipras has already met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
