Full coverage: South China Sea Is Indisputable Part of China
As the verdict on the South China Sea dispute approaches, more foreign experts and politicians have voiced their support for China's position and rejecting the arbitration process. They say negotiations are the best way to resolve disputes.
"I don't think that bringing disputes to an international audience will help solve the issue. The countries involved should solve the issue peacefully through bilateral talks," said professor Jose Jara, Universidad Mayor, Chile.
"It's unreasonable that countries outside the region intervene in territorial disputes. Such interventionism will only have negative effects," said Yeru Padinas, Broad Front Coalition, Uruguay.
"Arbitrations under the UNCLOS treaty...crazy judicial ...not a good way to deal with this issue," said Tom Zwart, director of School of Human Rights, Utrecht University.
