Five people have been killed and two others are still missing at a flooded coal mine in Zheng’an county in the southwestern province of Guizhou.

Fifteen security management personnel were doing security checks at the Tie-Ding-Yan mine when floodwaters suddenly came inside. Eight of them escaped the mine.

The county has experienced frequent rains in recent days. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
