Euro 2016 and hosts France taking on Ireland. The French are under plenty of pressure at the tournament and would be under the gun early against the plucky Irish. But Antoine Griezmann would step up, as Les Bleus were looking for their first win in the knock-out stages of the event since they won the title way back in 2000, on a golden goal over Italy.
The match is barely a minute old when Paul Pogba concedes a penalty by running into Shane Long in the area.
That leads to a penalty and Robbie Brady makes no mistake from 12 yards. It's 1-nil. Ireland upset Italy in their last match, and have the hosts on the ropes
But Antoine Griezmann steps up for France in the second half. The Atletico Madrid striker equalizes with a header in the 58th. Greizmann skies high to direct this cross into the net.
Only three minutes later, the fans at the Stadium of Light get to celebrate again. Griezmann slotting in the corner with a low shot as France take a 2-1 edge. Griezmann has three goals in the tournament.
And he has a chance at another in the 66th minute, as he is taken down by Shane Duffy just outside the area. The Irish player is sent off for the challenge as France hold on for a 2-1 win and advance to the quarter-finals.
