A group of suicide bombers have killed five people and wounded at least 15 in a northeastern Lebanese village near the Syrian border. Security sources had earlier put the death toll at six. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Security sources said they believed the Islamic State group was responsible.

The village is one of several border posts separating Lebanon and Syria. Lebanon has been repeatedly jolted by militant attacks linked to the five-year war in neighbouring Syria.
