President Xi Jinping met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev on the sidelines of the SCO meeting.

Xi Jinping said the two countries have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in a wide range of areas since establishing a strategic partnership three years ago. The Chinese president proposed that the two sides speed up the plan for the joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative, and enhance agricultural and production capacity cooperation.

Atambayev said his country and China are like brothers and Kyrgyzstan welcomes China to actively participate in its infrastructure construction.
