The SCO is an Eurasian political, economic, and military organization founded in 2001.
There six members in the SCO--China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. There are also six observers and seven dialogue partners in the organization.
The six full members of the SCO account for 60 percent of the land of Eurasia. The population of the six members and the six observers is about half of the world’s total.
Total GDP of the six members was about 13 trillion U.S. dollars in 2015, accounting for 16.6 percent of the global GDP.
The SCO focuses on a wide range of issues, including security, military, defense, foreign affairs, economic and cultural issues.
