Culture Express returns to do a little turn on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week, where Alessandro Michele's Gucci has made it a nerd's world. And this season he's inviting an old friend over for a series of cameos -- none other than Donald Duck.

Gucci show in Milan gets boost from Donald Duck

Just like an old Disney cartoon, Donald Duck shows off his versatility by sporting sequins on the back of a washed leather bomber, and printed incognito in an Asian pattern of a silk lacquered print. The showroom was bathed in green and fitted with velvety upholstered ottomans, with mist appearing from nowhere, to create the sense of anywhere. Driving the collection is the notion of a journey, and Alessandro Michele evokes the need for "open-mindness and possibility."

Crow & Stevens brings screen presence to Armani Show

In the meantime, actors Russell Crowe and Dan Stevens dropped by the Emporio Armani show on Monday, to check out the fashion house's Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The performers were treated to bold layouts that contrasted an urban color palette of grays, blacks, and blues with casual, flowing cuts. The fingerprint was the central motif of the collection: printed black on a white T-shirt, embroidered in golden thread onto a big travel bag, and woven into jacquard.

The arrangements alternated from sleek and modern, such as athletic pants with a textured 3-D effect jacket, to a more dandified mood with loose trousers featuring a diagonal button fly and trailing suspenders. An off-skew brimmed hat top off the look, with the designer describing the compilation as "a tense and sharp collection that stems from a reflection of today's meaning of identity."
