The new champs of the Association got a heroes welcome upon their return to Cleveland. LeBron James and the rest of the Cavaliers were able to dethrone the defending champion Golden State Warriors yesterday, to earn the franchise's first title.
More than ten-thousand fans showed up at the Cleveland airport awaiting the team's plane.
And the crowd went nuts -- (Mathew Dellavedova kind of nuts) once the plane arrives.
And they get louder as members of the team start to disembark, with the tune we are the Champions playing in the background.
The biggest ovation comes when local boy and Finals MVP LeBron James emerges with the championship trophy. He holds it overhead for all to see, while his teammates look on, some shirtless, others fully clothed.
The King then parades the trophy around the perimeter of the parking lot so fans behind the chain-linked fences can see the city's first championship title in more than 50 years. Cleveland became the first team to overturn a 3-1 series deficit in the NBA finals to win the title.
