Panview Exclusive: Uzbekistan, an ancient country of the Silk Road, will be the third  stop of Chinese President Xi Jinping's three-nation Eurasian tour, which will lift Beijing's relations in the region to new highs.

Xi is to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan and attend the 16th Shanghai Cooperation Orgnization (SCO) Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on June 21-24, an important diplomatic event.

The summit would support the central Asian region and promote the SCO to a more effective, practical, and healthy manner, as members get more prepared to tackle challenges and maintain steady economic development.

Uzbekistan is China's strategic partner to combat the "three forces" and build the Silk Road Economic Belt.

China-Uzbekistan relations have made leapfrog development with political mutual trust, win-win economic cooperation and learning from mutual civilizations, since the two nations had established a strategic partnership in 2012.

China has been the second largest trade partner and the biggest investment country for Uzbekistan for the past three years. Both believe that bilateral ties have entered its best period of history with greater opportunities to upgrade.

Xi's last visit to Uzbekistan was three years ago

During his upcoming visit, Xi will co-sign with Uzbekistan President Karimove a joint declaration along with many cooperation programs on diplomacy, economy and trade, intellectual copyrights, and finance to boost bilateral ties and to promote construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

The two have maintained good relations within the framework of the SCO.

Uzbekistan is this year's chair country for the summit that was last held in Russia's Ufa. Beijing has endorsed Uzbekistan to unite with the organization that brings cooperation to a more effective direction.

The Tashkent Summit is the highlight of Xi's Eurasian tour. He will attend various talks, signing ceremonies and welcome banquets, hold bilateral meetings with leaders of member states, and chair the third meeting of leaders of China, Russia and Mongolia.

2016 is the 20th anniversary of the "Shanghai Five" signing the Agreement on Strengthening the Trust in the Military Field in the Border Areas, and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the SCO.

The summit would open up the future to generate positive influence in SCO's development history.

Beijing proposes to carry forward the "Shanghai Spirit" for enhancing unity and trust that strengthen cooperation in security, execution, culture and organizational construction to usher in a new round of SCO's development.

Xi's attendance can catalyze the SCO's development, while deepening China's relations with Central Asian countries. SCO is facing its first expansion, it's expected that India and Pakistan  would join in.

China is committed to carrying out the Ufa summit consensus and would promote the expansion process in a proper way, as well as to obtain good results from this year's Tashkent summit, so the SCO's friends circle can get enlarged and its international influence upgraded.

The SCO has already become an outstanding platform for member states to seek consensus and preserve regional security.

Beijing is playing a bigger role in the organization. Along with the Belt and Road Initiative, China will promote the economic cooperation and development of member states and explore more development potential within the organization.
