Before the civil war in Syria, Afghans were the largest refugee population in the world. Currently there are still over 2 point 6 million refugees from Afghanistan registered in 70 countries and regions.
Around 5 point 8 million Afghans returned home after an 11-year campaign to defeat the Taliban. But those returning to the country were confronted with a humanitarian crisis, which has escalated to new levels of urgency. Our correspondent Catherine James has the details.
Last year a record number of the people trying to leave the country. These people do not live even to very basic access to hygiene, water, shelter. While international aid agencies are heavily involved and trying to improve the situations. It's through out the country as a better place for Europe or other parts of the world.
