Portugal were back in action in Euro 2016, taking on Austria in a Group F affair. The Seleccao had to settle for a 1-1 draw with debutants Iceland. Fernando Santos' men were looking for their first win to avoid being eliminated.

Cristiano Ronaldo won his 128th cap to break the record of Luis Figo, who was watching from the stands, but his landmark occasion turned into a night of torment for the Real Madrid luminary.

Portugal had several opportunities in the first half, including when Nani's header hit the woodwork.

Ronaldo had the perfect chance to snatch the points for Portugal after being fouled by Martin Hinteregger but his penalty struck Robert Almer's right-hand post.

The match ended goalless as Portugal's future at the tournament looked in jeopardy.

Hungary go top of group with 4 points

Iceland faced Hungary. In the physically tough battle, Hungary keeper Gabor Kiraly conceded a penalty for a foul on Iceland captain Aron Gunnarsson in a loose ball melee.

Midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson scored from the penalty spot, firing low to the right of Kiraly.

Iceland were content to sit deep and let their opponents have the ball. A joy for Hungary came in the 88th with a low cross from substitute Nemanja Nikolic which Iceland defender Birkir Saevarsson inadvertently turned into his own net.

After the tie, Hungary are standing first in Group F with four points, followed by Iceland with two points. Portugal, who were knocked out in the first round at the 2014 World Cup, face a tense final match against Hungary while Austria will play Iceland on Wednesday.
