Full coverage: South China Sea Is Indisputable Part of China

Sierra Leone's Foreign Minister Samura Kamara -- who's on a visit to China -- has reaffirmed his country's support to China's stance on the South China Sea issue.

Samura Kamara called on relative parties to peacefully resolve the disputes through dialogue and consultations. He said the Sierra Leonean government hopes that relative parties will respect the declaration on optional exceptions China made in pursuance with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

According to him, relative parties should exercise respect for the rights of sovereign states of the UNCLOS to choose ways of settling disputes.

"We regard this as a territorial issue. An issue within a family. Therefore we don't know the international court of justice has mandate or capacity to adjudicate issues after to do with territorial, historical sovereignty, certainly that issues that have military dimension. SO we believe that it is important to leave these issues among the family members by themselves," said Samura Kamara, foreign minister of Sierra Leone.
